Our Mission

Swiss consumers spend a significant portion of their income on groceries, yet comparing prices across stores is time-consuming and difficult. Schnäppchen Jäger was built to solve this problem. Our mission is to make grocery prices transparent and help households save money without sacrificing quality.

How We Work

We automatically collect publicly available product prices from Lidl, Migros, Coop, Aldi and Denner — five of the largest grocery retailers in Switzerland. We read them again every night, shop by shop, and convert them to a common quantity so the comparison holds (e.g., price per kilogram across different package sizes).

Transparency & Independence

Schnäppchen Jäger is an independent project. We are not affiliated with or sponsored by any supermarket chain. All product data is collected from publicly available sources. The site is paid for by the people who use it: CHF 2 a month for unlimited searching. We run no ads, so nobody can pay to decide which products you see first.

Technology

Schnäppchen Jäger is built with modern web technologies to provide a fast, accessible experience on any device. Every night we read tens of thousands of prices again, shop by shop, and check automatically that the price per kilo or litre is plausible.
