Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password.
• Shopping Lists: Your shopping lists and product selections are stored to enable price comparisons for you.
• Usage Data: We count page views with GoatCounter, which we host ourselves on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data; we only see which pages were opened and how often. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, we count nothing at all.
• Payment details: If you take out a subscription, Stripe handles the payment. We never see or store your card details. All we keep is the reference number Stripe gives your account, whether your subscription is running, and how long it is paid up for.

How We Use Your Data

• Providing and managing your account and shopping lists
• Improving our service by analyzing usage patterns
• Communicating with you about your account (e.g., password resets)

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare: Website hosting and delivery
• Neon: Database hosting for accounts, shopping lists and price data
• Oracle Cloud: Server for the interface that supplies product and price data
• Stripe: Payment processing for the subscription. Stripe receives your email address and your payment details and keeps the payment records for as long as the law requires.
• Lettermint: Sending our emails to you, for example password resets or price alerts. Your email address and the content of the message are passed on.

Cookies

We only use functional session cookies required for authentication. These cookies are necessary for the service to work and do not require consent. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Your Rights

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG), you have the following rights:

• Access to your personal data
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your data (account closure)
• Export of your data in a portable format

You can delete your account yourself, under “Delete account” in your account. Your account details, your shopping lists and your settings are removed from our database. If a subscription is still running, please cancel it first, otherwise Stripe keeps charging you. Prefer to write? Email hi@zzd.ch.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password storage, and regular security updates.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website.
